Full job description
Mac is a 24 hour assessment unit seeing patients from GP and other community settings. It is a fast paced environment with a high turnover of patients. We aim to reduce admissions by seeing and treating patients within MAC with a hope to discharge back to the community.
To work as a registered nurse within a ward team within the Integrated Medicine and Patient Flow Division.
To prioritise and deliver nursing care and assessment as needed.
To demonstrate high standards of care and set examples of best practise within the delivery of patient care.
To liaise with other departments and staff to ensure that patient care is delivered.
To ensure patients’ safety, privacy and dignity is maintained at all times.
To support the nurse in charge of the ward and liaise with other departments and professionals to ensure that the needs of the unit are met.
Following appropriate development to assist in take charge duties of the unit and oversee patient admissions and transfers and the care delivered by other staff.
To undertake such duties as from time to time determined by the Unit Manager and/or Head Nurse.
Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS FT is situated in the busy, vibrant, town of Blackpool where regeneration of the town is actively moving forward. As a busy holiday destination we have plenty to see and do including Blackpool Tower and Ballroom, bars, cafes and restaurants and theatres with major West End productions.
