Are you a passionate Cook or Chef looking for a rewarding role with work-life balance?

We're looking for a caring and reliable Cook to join our friendly team at our welcoming 34-bed residential care home in Bessacarr, Doncaster.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys preparing fresh, home-cooked meals that make a real difference to people's day. Whether you've worked in a care home, nursing home, school, hotel, café, restaurant or commercial kitchen, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

As our Care Home Cook, you'll be responsible for providing nutritious, well-balanced meals that cater to the individual dietary needs and preferences of our residents. Mealtimes are an important part of daily life, and you'll play a key role in creating an enjoyable dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook nutritious breakfast, lunch, evening meals and desserts.
  • Plan varied, seasonal menus alongside the Home Manager.
  • Cater for special dietary requirements, allergies and modified diets.
  • Maintain excellent food hygiene and infection control standards.
  • Manage food ordering, stock rotation and minimise waste.
  • Ensure the kitchen is clean, safe and compliant with Food Safety regulations.
  • Work closely with the care team to provide the best possible service for residents.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Cook, Chef or Catering Assistant in a care home, healthcare, hospitality or commercial kitchen.
  • A passion for preparing high-quality, home-cooked food.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and food safety regulations.
  • Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • A caring, friendly and positive attitude.
