Full job description

The Role

We are looking for an energetic and reliable Fruit & Veg Assistant to join our busy fresh produce team. In this role, you will be the heart of our department, ensuring our shelves are packed with vibrant, high-quality fruit and vegetables every day. You will also be preparing vegetables for our counters and coffee lounge.

Full time – 40 hours. Tuesday - Saturday, 6.00am-2.30pm

£13.45 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Receiving and checking deliveries of fresh fruit and vegetables.
  • Preparing fresh vegetables for our counters and coffee lounge.
  • Building and replenishing attractive fruit and vegetable displays.
  • Rotating stock to ensure maximum freshness and minimise waste.
  • Keeping accurate records.
  • Operating a variety of food preparation equipment.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic work environment.
  • Providing friendly and helpful customer service

Desirable requirements

  • Great communication skills
  • Keen eye for detail for quality control and food safety standards
  • Good customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous retail or food preparation experience is a plus, but full training will be given
