Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating high-quality beverages in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop specialised skills in coffee preparation and customer engagement, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors. The position is paid and suitable for individuals who enjoy working in a dynamic, team-oriented setting.

Duties

  • Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Operate coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to food safety standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by taking orders, answering questions, and offering recommendations with a friendly attitude.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the counter area, including cleaning equipment and sanitising work surfaces regularly.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system, including giving correct change.
  • Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts.
  • Follow food safety regulations diligently to ensure the health and safety of customers and staff.

Experience

  • Previous barista experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards is advantageous.
  • Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment helps deliver excellent service efficiently.
  • Skills in food preparation such as assembling sandwiches or snacks are beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Basic maths skills are necessary for handling transactions accurately.
  • Strong time management skills are essential to prioritise tasks during busy periods and maintain service quality under pressure.
