We are looking for an experienced career driven Cafe Assistant, that has the drive and passion for the hospitality industry, this role will fit a fast paced, energetic candidate that loves customer service, a real opportunity for progression within the company and future management roles.

Duties as follows

  • Serving meals/drinks to customers.
  • Opening and Closing the cafe area.
  • Operating the coffee machine, blender and other cafe equipment etc.
  • Making barista style coffees.
  • Restocking of products/supplies
  • Customer service excellence.
  • Efficient table clearing and cleaning.
  • Confident, friendly, and outgoing character
  • Notifying the Manager when stocks/supplies are low.
  • Ensuring all duties are carried out in accordance to safety requirements and food hygiene regulations.
  • Managing all payment transactions in accordance with the financial policies and procedures. Handling transactions with diligence, honesty and integrity.
  • Supporting colleagues at peak times and to undertaking any operational duty which might be reasonably required, to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Ensuring safety and sanitation practices
  • Helping with simple food preparation (chopping and peeling vegetables, etc.)
  • Ensuring excellent presentation of served food and drinks.
  • Ensuring all stock and supplies are stored properly.
  • Ensuring personal grooming and appearance standards are met regarding cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene.

Essential Skills / Experience:

  • Have catering experience and have worked in a similar position
  • Maturity and attention to detail, Must be 18+ years old for licencing purposes
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Be IT literate for use of electronic till systems
  • Have a high level of integrity and honesty
  • Be self-motivated
  • Work well as part of a team
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have the ability to work efficiently and quickly under pressure
  • Have high standards of personal hygiene
  • Barista experience preferred - training provided

Being a hospitality role, its essential to have good weekend availability to support and assist the team. Hours within the week as well as weekends.
