Location: The Blue Bean Coffee Co, 79 Cherry Orchard, Castle Hill, Ebbsfleet, Kent, DA10 1AD

Reports to: Store Manager

Position type: Part-time (weekends), with potential to progress to

include weekday shifts Salary: £13.00 to £14.00 per hour

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager

to help lead our busy coffee shop. This is a hands-on role, working

alongside the team on the floor while supporting the Store Manager

with day-to-day operations, staff supervision, and maintaining our

high standards of service.

This position starts as a weekend role, with the opportunity to move

into additional weekday shifts as the business grows and depending

on performance and availability .

Key Responsibilities

Support the Store Manager in the smooth day-to-day running of

the shop

Supervise and motivate team members during shifts, leading by

example on the floor

Ensure consistently excellent customer service is delivered at all

times

Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and other beverages to

brand standard

Open and/or close the shop, including end-of-

day procedures

Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene, and health &

safety compliance

Manage stock levels, deliveries, and stock rotation

Handle customer queries, feedback, and complaints professionally

and efficiently

Help train and coach new and existing team members

Step up to manage the shop in the Store Manager’s absence

Essential Requirements

Barista trained, with solid experience making a full range of

coffee and espresso-based drinks

Excellent customer service skills, with a friendly , professional,

and proactive approach

Previous experience working in a busy , fast-paced coffee shop,

café, or hospitality environment

Some experience in a supervisory or team leader capacity

(desirable but not essential)

Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate a team

Reliable, punctual, and able to stay calm under pressure during

busy periods

Full weekend availability (Saturday and Sunday) is essential.

Willingness and flexibility to take on weekday shifts as the role

develops

Basic understanding of stock control, cash handling, and food

hygiene practices

Latte art or specialty coffee experience
