Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and exceptional customer service skills. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, taking payments, making milkshakes/smoothies, preparing desserts,maintaining a clean and inviting workspace, and ensuring that customers have an enjoyable experience. This role requires excellent time management skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Applicant must be fully invested in wanting the job and be able to work weekends. The hours are based on 1 weekend day, however to make up the hours above the 24 hours basic you can have both weekend days, some weekends will be required to work both days i.e holiday cover on a rotational basis. Please do not apply if you can't work weekends.

We have a great team within the cafe and its enjoyable to work with, it is very busy and fast paced at times, with pressure so you need to be on the ball and ready to get stuck in :)

Duties

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee station, dining area, and equipment.
  • Assist with preparing desserts, including pastries and light snacks, while adhering to food safety standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders accurately, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
  • Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records of sales.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
  • Uphold health and safety regulations within the café environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar role is essential; a minimum of 1 year barista, however training will be provided, on our machine and bar for how we serve out.
  • Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy setting.
  • Basic maths skills for handling transactions and managing cash flow.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices is advantageous.
  • A friendly disposition with excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
