Full job description

The Ground Up Project and The Proud Trust have come together in a unique partnership built on a shared commitment to inclusion, opportunity and empowerment.

Together, we will support neurodivergent and/or LGBTQ+ young people to develop independence, access meaningful work opportunities, and feel valued within their communities. By combining our expertise, we are creating inclusive spaces where every young person can thrive, be themselves, and build their future, from the ground up.

Based in The Proud Trust’s home The Proud Place, the Café Manager will be pivotal in driving forward both organisations' approach to inclusion and accessibility with clear demonstration and appreciation for LGBTQ+ and Neurodiverse centred approaches. With this commitment in mind, we are committed to drawing from the widest possible talent pool and strongly encourage applications from people who are under‑represented within hospitality, youth work and the voluntary sector. We are especially keen to hear from people from the Global Majority, trans and non‑binary people, neurodiverse and disabled applicants. We recognise the value of enrichment that lived experienced and positive representation brings to the communities we serve at The Proud Place.

About The Ground Up Project

At the Ground Up Project, our work is driven by a mission to empower neurodivergent people through inclusive employment, meaningful professional development, and community-led innovation. We believe neurodivergent talent is a vital catalyst for creativity, opportunity, and positive change, and we actively foster a culture where difference is valued, growth is supported, and strong communities are built from the ground up.
