Position:Channel Manager - Coffee to Go and Workplace
Location:Field Based, UK
Job Type:Permanent, full time
Salary:£45-£48,000.00 per annum, plus on target earnings + company vehicle

Purpose of Role:

The role is responsible for leading and developing a team of field-based Key Account Managers across Great Britain, ensuring delivery of both individual and collective performance targets. This includes regular time in the field to coach, support and review team performance, as well as building strong internal relationships across departments to coordinate effective, customer-focused activity. The position requires a high level of influence, decision-making authority, and collaboration to drive alignment and achieve business objectives.

Alongside people leadership, the role holds accountability for driving growth across both existing and new business, ensuring strong customer retention and maximising account performance through effective planning, negotiation, and targeted activity. The successful candidate will lead on sales planning, forecasting, and budget management, including monitoring performance across accounts, products, and territories, while ensuring accurate reporting and timely administration. Regular travel is required to support the team and maintain strong engagement across the channel.


Key responsibilities:

  • Manage and support Key Account Managers in the delivery of territory sales targets
  • Provide weekly sales updates, summarising Key Account Manager performance against targets and set out plans for growth
  • Develop and grow nominated national accounts ensuring targets achieved
  • Identity and secure new business customers
  • Enhance Business Unit reputation across wider Matthew Algie business functions, ensuring improved knowledge and understanding of Coffee To Go and Workplace business and delivery of objectives
  • Evaluate marketing activity through ROI and recommend opportunities for growth
  • Support monthly Business Unit reviews with the SLT through performance and people reporting and updates.


Experience:

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you can demonstrate proven experience in sales team management and national account management within the coffee, FMCG, or convenience sectors, with a strong track record of delivering growth and developing key customer relationships

Education / Qualifications / Training:

  • The post holder should be of degree calibre with out-of-home or combined FMCG experience
  • Competent in all Microsoft Office packages specifically outlook, excel, word and PowerPoint.
