Full job description

Cook the season at a seafront kitchen with the Solent on your doorstep.

Our Eastney Esplanade site sits right on the beach with open views across the Solent, serving fresh food to locals and visitors through the busiest months of the year. We are open for the season and looking for an experienced chef to join the kitchen and help us deliver food to a consistently high standard.

This is a busy kitchen through the summer. We want someone who has cooked at pace before, holds their standards when the covers stack up, and takes pride in what leaves the pass.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook dishes to a consistently high standard across all sections
  • Run your section confidently during busy service
  • Support the wider kitchen team and communicate clearly through service
  • Carry out prep to spec and manage your mise en place
  • Maintain stock rotation, correct storage and minimal waste
  • Keep the kitchen clean, organised and compliant with food hygiene standards at all times
  • Follow allergen procedures and record keeping accurately
  • Work with the Head Chef on specials and daily menu changes where appropriate

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience working as a chef in a busy kitchen
  • Confident cooking fresh food from scratch
  • Calm and organised under pressure
  • Good understanding of food hygiene and allergen requirements
  • A strong team player who turns up ready and gets stuck in
  • Level 2 Food Safety certificate is desirable, though we can support the right candidate
