Full job description

We are looking for a baker (3 a.m starts) to join our team at our bakery in the Port Dundas area of Glasgow (G4).

Our dedicated bakery team work in the early hours of the morning, making everything from scratch, to supply our three centrally located shops as well as catering for events and corporate functions. We are a small friendly team with good staff retention, and are looking for the right person to train and grow with us. Public transport is limited during the times we operate, therefore you will need a reliable way to get to the kitchen. Please don't apply for this job if you cannot work these shifts.

We require you for 4-5 shifts a week including weekends.

Responsibilities include handling dough, assisting with production of dough, frying doughnuts, filling and glazing doughnuts to our high standards. Ensuring cleanliness and good hygiene standards and kept up at all times and complying with food and health safety regulations. This role is physical and you must be able to stand for 7/8 hours, as well as be able to lift weights of around 25kg.

We’re looking for someone who is committed to their career in hospitality and we can offer ongoing development to support you as you grow and succeed with us.

Our Ideal Candidate has:

  • At least one year minimum experience within a bakery, kitchen or professional food environment.
  • Dough handling experience is preferred, however full training is provided.
  • A passion for food, with good and up to date knowledge of current food trends and ingredients.
  • Available to work bakery opening hours and weekends as well as busy periods such as Easter, Halloween and Christmas period. (Closed Christmas day)
  • High energy levels with a cheerful attitude and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining an enjoyable environment alongside your peers.

Competitive rates starting at £13.45 per hour. This will increase once the candidate has passed their probation. We are certified Real Living Wage employers.
