A Typical Day as an Assistant Manager:

  • Lead and support the team by acting as second-in-command, delegating tasks, creating a positive working environment, and helping colleagues feel welcomed, supported, and set up for success.
  • Coach, develop, and inspire team members through regular guidance, feedback, and mentoring to help individuals grow and perform at their best.
  • Drive operational success by supporting rota planning in line with budgets and labour targets while encouraging the team to maximise promotions and enhance the customer experience.
  • Recognise and celebrate success by creating an engaging environment where individual and team achievements are acknowledged and rewarded.
  • Take ownership of store operations in the Store Manager’s absence, ensuring smooth day-to-day performance and maintaining Starbucks standards across all areas of the business.
  • Deliver commercial results by managing stock, overseeing inventory control and reporting, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and minimise waste.
  • Maintain exceptional store standards by ensuring merchandising, availability, presentation, and food safety requirements are consistently achieved.
  • Champion safety and compliance by ensuring Health & Safety, Food Safety, hygiene, and cash handling procedures are followed to the highest standards.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous management experience is preferred, but not essential.
  • Experience leading or supervising a team within hospitality, retail, or a customer-focused environment.
  • A confident and approachable leader who can motivate, coach, and bring out the best in others.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A proactive mindset and confidence to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
