Full job description

Job Overview We are looking for a enthusiastic, hands-on Bakery Store Manager to lead our front-of-house team and oversee daily retail operations. In this role, you will combine retail leadership and exceptional customer service with daily barasting and light baking tasks. You will ensure the shop runs smoothly, stays fully stocked, and provides a welcoming atmosphere for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Administration: Create weekly shift rotas, manage front-of-house staff, and conduct interviews and onboarding for new part-time team members.
  • Customer Service & Floor Management: Lead by example on the shop floor, handling customer inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining high service standards.
  • Inventory & Ordering: Track daily product sales, monitor stock levels, and place regular orders for ingredients, packaging, and supplies.
  • Coffee & Beverage Preparation: Prepare and serve a full menu of specialty coffees, teas, and signature drinks to barista standards.
  • Light Baking & Food Prep: Bake off pre-made frozen breads and pastries delivered from our central factory, ensuring freshness and visual appeal throughout the day.
  • Store Upkeep: Maintain strict food hygiene, health, and safety standards, ensuring the counter, display cases, and seating areas are clean and organised.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a retail manager, supervisor, or shift lead role (food/beverage or hospitality experience preferred).
  • Hands-on barista experience preparing specialty espresso drinks.
  • Strong organisational skills with experience managing staff schedules and basic ordering/inventory.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Food Hygiene Certificate level 2 at least.
  • Ability to work early mornings and weekends as required by the business schedule.
