Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Sessional Cafe Cook to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of meals in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for culinary arts and experience in food preparation to contribute to a welcoming community setting. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a range of café-style meals, snacks, and beverages according to specified recipes and standards
  • Assist in the organisation and replenishment of ingredients and supplies
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
  • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines at all times during food preparation and service
  • Support serving staff as needed, including plating dishes and assisting with customer orders when required
  • Monitor stock levels and communicate needs for procurement or restocking

Requirements

  • Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen roles within a café, restaurant, or similar environment
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene and cleanliness
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
  • Previous experience in meal preparation, culinary tasks, or serving is desirable but not essential
  • Flexibility to work sessional hours as scheduled, including weekends if required
