At Epic Caterers, we deliver weddings and events that depend on careful preparation, teamwork and high standards behind the scenes.

We’re looking for a reliable Kitchen Porter to help keep our production HQ, equipment and event vans clean, organised and ready to go.

We prepare, send out and receive back equipment for several events at once, so this role is a key part of how we work. We need someone who works hard, takes pride in what they do and makes sure everything ends up clean and in the right place.

Being clean and tidy is our first priority. You should be someone who notices what needs doing, keeps standards high and finishes tasks properly.

The opportunity

You’ll be part of our kitchen porter and cleaning team, working with our Head Kitchen Porter, chefs and events team. You’ll start the day in a clean production kitchen and end it with an organised van back from an event, and you’ll help make sure every stage is done properly.

This is a hands-on role with room to grow. If you’re keen to develop, there’s the chance to learn new skills and take on more responsibility as the business grows.

What you’ll be doing

Keeping our production HQ immaculate

• Keeping kitchens, wash-up areas, storage spaces and working areas clean and tidy.
• Washing, drying and storing pots, pans, utensils and catering equipment correctly.
• Completing daily cleaning tasks, deep cleans and end-of-day checks.
• Keeping floors, walkways and loading areas clean, clear and safe.
• Dealing with waste and recycling so nothing is left to build up.
• Letting the Head KP know when cleaning materials are running low or equipment is faulty.
• Filling in cleaning records and following our hygiene procedures.

Helping with event equipment and loading

• Helping to load and unload catering equipment alongside the events team.
• Making sure items going out to events are clean, checked and packed securely.
• Keeping clean equipment separate from dirty event returns.
• Unloading, sorting, washing and putting away returned equipment quickly.
• Reporting any missing or damaged items.
• Keeping equipment stores organised so everyone can find what they need.

Keeping our vans clean and ready

• Cleaning and tidying our event vans, including the loading areas and cabs.
• Clearing out waste, dirty equipment and unwanted items after events.
• Making sure vans are clean and organised before the next load.
• Reporting any damage or concerns to the Head KP or a manager.

Working as part of the team

We often work across several events at once, so priorities can change and busy periods need a calm, can-do attitude. You’ll need to follow instructions, communicate well and keep standards high when things get busy.

Who we’re looking for

Kitchen porter or cleaning experience in a busy catering setting is a bonus, but not essential. A great attitude and a willingness to learn matter most.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is punctual and reliable.
• Has a naturally clean, tidy and organised approach.
• Finishes tasks properly without needing reminders.
• Works well as part of a team.
• Stays calm and keeps going when it gets busy.
• Is comfortable with physical, hands-on work, including cleaning, lifting, loading and unloading.
• Is willing to learn kitchen hygiene, safe working practices and the correct use of cleaning products.
• Speaks up when they spot a problem.
