We have been established in Manchester for over 14 years and opened our new café at the Civic centre on Millgate in Wigan last year. The role would suit an ambitious, talented person who loves to work with and prepare fresh, natural ingredients.

Chef Job Description

Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Kitchen Assistant to join our team. You will be working within a small kitchen team responsible for the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Duties:
- Be an expert in food preparation and with great culinary skills
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to the menu specifications
- Monitor food production to ensure compliance with food safety standards
- Develop new recipes and menu items to meet customer preferences
- Help with training kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety procedures
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Collaborate with management to create budgets and plan menus
- Oversee kitchen equipment maintenance and repairs

Skills:
- Proficiency in kitchen operations and culinary techniques
- Excellent knowledge of food safety regulations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Creativity in developing new dishes and menus

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Assistant or similar role
- Degree in Culinary Arts or relevant field is a plus
- Certification in food safety is preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
