Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Cafe Chef/Cook to join our cafe team. The ideal candidate will possess some kitchen experience and initiative qualities, and a passion for continues improvement. This role offers an opportunity to work in environment where creativity and professionalism are highly valued. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing dishes, and kitchen operations, and ensuring food safety standards are maintained. Previous experience is preferred,. The role is fluid and we hope the successful candidate will put there own stamp on it.

Duties

  • Prepare a variety of menu items with attention to quality, presentation, and consistency
  • Manage food production processes, including portioning, plating, and ensuring timely delivery of orders
  • Oversee food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness standards within the kitchen environment
  • Assist in menu planning and development to enhance customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock control to minimise waste
  • Train new team members on food preparation techniques and safety procedures
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a similar role within a café, restaurant, or hospitality setting
  • Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation and presentation
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen hygiene
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and management
  • Experience in food production, cooking, and serving in a fast-paced environment is essential
