About Good Lyfe Café

Good Lyfe Café is a welcoming, wellness-focused café in Downend, Bristol, serving quality coffee, fresh food and creating a positive community atmosphere for our customers.

We're looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and experienced hospitality team member to join our growing evening team.

The Role

This is a varied hospitality role combining bar service, barista duties and light food preparation. We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a busy, customer-focused environment and takes pride in delivering excellent service.

This position offers a minimum of 20 hours per week, with evening shifts until 10:30pm.

As part of the role, you'll be expected to work at least 3 out of every 4 Friday and Saturday evening shifts, so weekend availability is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks
  • Preparing barista-quality coffees and hot drinks
  • Serving food and snacks
  • Assisting with basic food preparation and presentation
  • Supporting kitchen preparation during service
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the café
  • Working closely with the wider team during busy service periods

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Previous experience working behind a bar
  • Previous barista experience
  • Confident working in a fast-paced hospitality environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Reliable, hardworking and punctual
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Available for evening shifts until 10:30pm
  • Able to commit to working at least 3 out of every 4 Friday and Saturday evenings

Desirable:

  • Basic cooking or kitchen experience
  • Experience preparing simple café food
  • A positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn

Shift Information

  • Evening shifts available Thursday to Saturday
  • Typical hours: 4:00pm – 10:30pm
  • Minimum 20 hours per week
  • Regular Friday and Saturday evening work required
  • Some flexibility available around other shifts
