The Company:

Comptoir Bakery brings the best of French baking to London, using the finest British and French ingredients. From our beginnings at Borough Market to our cafés across London Bridge, Bermondsey and beyond, we’re proud to be a local favourite. As part of our front-of-house team, you’ll create a warm, welcoming experience while serving handcrafted pastries, cakes and sandwiches made fresh daily.

Job Summary:

We are looking to hire two Team Leaders for full time, permanent roles!

One role shall be based at our Maltby Bakery and cafe location with the other role being a 'floating' Team Leader, working flexibly across our four sites in Bermondsey and London Bridge. You will work closely with the Branch Manager on site to ensure smooth daily operations and an exceptional customer experience. You’ll lead by example on the floor during your shifts, and help maintain high standards across service, cleanliness, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise front-of-house operations during shifts
  • Delegate tasks to team members where appropriate
  • Maintain high standards of customer service, including customer feedback, enquiries, and resolving complaints professionally
  • Support team members on the floor
  • Ensure coffee standards, cleanliness and hygiene compliance
  • Handle wastage and ‘Too good to go’ orders
  • Handle end-of-day till closing and milk stock/orders
  • Communicate any shift issues to the Branch Manager
  • Ensure prompt and quality service, especially during peak hours
  • Responsible for correct opening/closing of the cafe

Qualifications / Role requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role in the hospitality industry, including strong leadership skills and team management
  • Barista training, including knowledge of quality control and high coffee standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work early mornings and weekends / holidays
