Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista/Customer Service professional to join our team. This role involves preparing high-quality beverages, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a welcoming environment for all patrons. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for coffee and food service, along with strong organisational skills to ensure smooth daily operations. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic and supportive team. The role requires availability on week days, occasional evenings and weekends.

Duties

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and other beverages in accordance with company standards
  • Assist customers with their orders, answer questions, and provide exceptional service to enhance their experience
  • Ensure food safety standards are maintained at all times during food preparation and service
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and operate the POS system efficiently
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and customer areas throughout shifts
  • Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during busy periods
  • Follow health and safety guidelines diligently, including proper food handling procedures
  • Support the team during busy hours by assisting with food preparation and customer service tasks as required

Experience

  • Previous barista experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling is advantageous
  • Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment is desirable
  • Basic maths skills for cash handling and order processing are required
  • Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods
  • Ability to work well within a team while also demonstrating independence when needed
