Contract Type: Seasonal Position (June- October) Variable Hours/ Fully Flexible

We are looking for a Catering Assistant to join our team at Tynemouth Aquarium

Join the team at our award-winning Tynemouth aquarium, located on the Northeast coast is home to an array of animals in over 40 naturally themed exhibits from around the world from the British coast, the Mediterranean, coral reef and the tropical rainforest.

Job Description

To assist in the running of the catering outlets in an efficient manner in a fast paced environment, offering excellent customer service, maximising sales and complying with all hygiene rules and regulations.

Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Meeting and greeting visitors, whilst delivering a high standard of customer service
  • Taking food and drink orders using an electronic till
  • Making fresh hot drinks using an automated machine and serving soft drinks/alcohol
  • Serving snacks and ice cream to our guests in the restaurant and play area.
  • Keeping the restaurant clean and tidy to a high standard.
  • Ensuring all HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point) guidelines and H&S (Health & Safety) policies are followed correctly and safely.

  • Experience working in a similar catering/café outlet, making food and hot drinks to a high standard
  • Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to a continuously growing experience
