Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of beverages, maintaining high standards of food safety, and ensuring the smooth operation of the café during busy periods. Previous experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to develop barista skills within a dynamic environment committed to quality and customer satisfaction.

Duties

  • Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, in accordance with company standards.
  • Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks when required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Serve customers efficiently and courteously, taking orders accurately and processing payments using the till system.
  • Manage stock levels, restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth service.
  • Uphold health and safety standards at all times, including proper food handling procedures.
  • Assist in setting up the café for opening hours and closing down at the end of shifts.

Experience

  • Previous experience as a barista or in a similar customer-facing role is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards is preferred.
  • Experience in serving customers and food preparation is advantageous.
  • Basic maths skills are necessary for handling transactions accurately.
  • Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
