We are also expanding our evening offering to include freshly prepared smash burgers, making this an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys both café service and cooking in a more dynamic kitchen setting.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working as part of a team, and has a genuine passion for hospitality. Flexibility is essential, as evening and weekend work is a requirement.

  • Assist with food preparation, including sandwiches, salads, and baked items
  • Take customer orders efficiently and accurately, ensuring a smooth and friendly service
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout the café and kitchen areas
  • Follow all food hygiene and safety procedures at all times
  • Operate the point-of-sale system and handle cash/card transactions accurately
  • Provide a warm, welcoming, and attentive experience for all customers
  • Restock supplies and assist with general daily operations

Experience & Skills

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced café, kitchen, or hospitality environment is essential
  • Ability to cook confidently, including preparing and managing smash burger service, is required
  • Barista experience is desirable but not essential (training can be provided)
  • Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure during busy service periods
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn

This is a great opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team at Gwydyr Café, with the chance to be part of an evolving food offering and develop your skills across both café and kitchen service.
