Full job description

We’re looking for an experienced and friendly Café Supervisor to join our small but busy kiosk in Crystal Palace. Our kiosk is a popular spot in the park, serving locals, visitors, and families every day. We’re a close-knit team, and we’re looking for someone who can lead with confidence, stay calm under pressure, and bring out the best in the team.

This is a hands-on role in a lively, outdoor environment where every day is a little different, and you’ll have the chance to make a real difference to both the team and our customers’ experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the kiosk, ensuring smooth, efficient service at all times
  • Lead, support, and motivate the team, setting clear standards and leading by example
  • Work confidently with the grill, preparing food and supervising grill operations to ensure quality, consistency, and food safety standards
  • Deliver excellent customer service and handle customer queries or complaints professionally
  • Monitor stock levels, place orders, and help control costs
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and health & safety across the kiosk and surrounding area
  • Manage opening and closing procedures, including opening the bridge each morning and closing it at the end of the day
  • Carry out daily operational checks and ensure the site is fully prepared for service
  • Support a positive, respectful, and well-organised working environment, especially during busy periods
  • Flexibility to work weekends, school holidays, and busy seasonal periods
  • Set up and maintain the seating area on the stage including arranging tables and chairs and keeping the area tidy throughout the day
  • Check and maintain toilets, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and ready for visitors

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Supervisor in hospitality
  • Confident working with grill equipment and food preparation
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a small team
  • Able to stay calm, organised, and focused under pressure
  • Physically fit and capable of carrying out daily opening and closing duties
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach

Additional Requirement:
As part of this role, the Supervisor is responsible for opening the bridge each morning and closing it at the end of the day. This is an important part of keeping the kiosk running smoothly and the park accessible to visitors. Because of this, the ideal candidate should be physically fit and able to carry out light manual tasks safely, and applicants should have no medical or health conditions that would prevent them from performing this duty. This is a small but essential part of the role, giving you the chance to be hands-on and contribute directly to the smooth operation of the kiosk.

This is a great opportunity to take on a leadership role in a friendly, community-focused kiosk in a popular park location. If you’re hands-on, reliable, and ready to lead a team in a busy outdoor setting, we’d love to hear from you.
