Full job description

We’re on the lookout for a Front of House Assistant to join our team at The Orchard Kitchen.

We’re a thriving and well-established brunch destination, loved by a fantastic and loyal customer base. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, loves providing great customer service, and can work confidently as part of our established Front of House and Kitchen team.

The role

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Taking customer orders and handling payments using the till
  • Providing friendly, welcoming and efficient customer service
  • Communicating clearly and professionally with customers and colleagues
  • Working closely with our established Front of House and Kitchen teams to ensure smooth service
  • Keeping the café clean, organised and presentable
  • Washing up and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Restocking ingredients, cups and supplies as required
  • Assisting with opening and closing duties
  • Following food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Supporting the wider team during busy periods

What we’re looking for

Great communication skills are essential. You’ll need to be confident communicating with both customers and colleagues and be comfortable working as part of a busy team.

Previous experience in a similar café, restaurant or hospitality environment is essential, as this is a fast-paced and often very busy role.

Weekend availability is essential and non-negotiable. Our busiest days are weekends, so applicants must be able to commit to weekend shifts.

Barista experience is not essential but would be advantageous.

Other requirements

Please note that you must be 18 or over to be considered for this role due to the sale of alcohol.

Due to our location, your own transport is essential, as there is no public transport available.

Full and part-time hours available. All hours will include weekends.
