Overview

This dynamic role offers the opportunity to engage with customers, craft delicious beverages, and support daily operations with enthusiasm and professionalism. Whether you’re passionate about coffee, food, or creating welcoming spaces, this position is your chance to grow within a supportive team. Operating hours between 7am-4pm.

Duties

  • Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
  • Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, and baked goods to maintain efficient service flow
  • Serve customers at the counter or table with friendliness and professionalism, taking orders accurately and handling transactions efficiently
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across all areas of the café, including food prep stations, dining areas, and equipment
  • Support stock management by restocking supplies, checking expiry dates, and assisting with inventory counts
  • Follow food safety guidelines diligently to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers
  • Manage time effectively during busy periods to deliver prompt service while maintaining attention to detail
  • Occasional lone working required

Skills

  • Proven experience as a barista or in food service is highly desirable; understanding and a passion for specialty coffee craftsmanship is preferred!
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices for hygiene in a food handling environment
  • Ability to serve customers warmly while managing multiple tasks efficiently
  • Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and measuring ingredients accurately
  • Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours without compromising quality
  • Capable of performing food preparation tasks with attention to detail and safety protocols
  • Excellent communication skills to work seamlessly with team members and engage positively with customers
