Shift Pattern: Saturday + Sunday, 8:00- 3:30

We are looking for a part time experienced cook/chef to come and join us at Bigwigs at our Highcliffe location.

Bread and pastries are supplied from our nearby Flagship store, but as the chef of our smallest branch, you’ll be in charge of the day to day running of our 'hatch' kitchen and in-store hot and cold food offerings.

If you are a motivated individual with a passion for hospitality and keen to work in a small, fun and close team, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your resume along with a cover letter detailing your relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Support: Work alongside the team during shifts, leading by example through a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Support the Manager in creating a motivated, productive and enjoyable working environment.
  • Food Preparation: Prepare our breakfast, brunch and lunch menu to a high, consistent standard, following recipes and specifications.
  • Kitchen Operations: Confidently operate the grill, fryer and oven, working safely and efficiently, including when working independently.
  • Food Safety & Hygiene: Maintain high food hygiene standards, including food preparation, stock rotation, temperature checks and completion of daily food safety records.
  • Kitchen Opening & Closing: Open and close the kitchen to company standards, ensuring it is fully prepared for service and left clean, stocked and organised for the next shift.
  • Cleanliness & Organisation: Keep the kitchen clean, tidy and well organised throughout the day. Support the Front of House team with pot wash and kitchen porter duties when required.

This is an excellent weekend opportunity with social daytime hours, 8am - 3:30pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Person Specification

For this role, you will be a key support to the Bakery Manager and a role model for the team on shift. You will help create a positive working environment and ensure kitchen standards and quality of food served are consistently high.

  • Previous experience in a kitchen
  • Confidence in food hygiene requirements
  • Positive attitude and able to maintain team morale
  • Willing to step up and take responsibility during shifts
  • Passion for serving a small menu to a high standard

Pay: From £13.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Cooking: 1 year (required)

Work Location: In person
