Job Overview

Sadler's is Derby's new look premium cafe & cocktail bar in the heart of the city on the historic and social hub of Sadler Gate.

From coffee and brunch, champagne and cocktails, charcuterie, live music and chilled DJ vibes Sadler's appeals to a cross section of customers at differing times of the day and week.

Following our recent refurbishment we are seeking an energetic and dynamic Bar Manager to lead our bustling bar operations with enthusiasm and expertise. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily bar activities, ensure exceptional guest experiences, and manage a talented team of bartenders. Your leadership will drive the creation of a lively, welcoming atmosphere where guests can enjoy expertly crafted beverages and memorable moments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your proven hospitality skills and management talents for a small independent operator.

Duties

  • Supervise daily bar operations, ensuring smooth service and adherence to quality standards
  • Lead, motivate, and train bartenders and staff to deliver outstanding customer service and cocktail mixology
  • Manage inventory levels for alcohol, mixers, garnishes, and bar supplies; place orders as needed
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations related to food production and beverage service
  • Develop innovative drink menus that reflect current trends while maintaining consistency and quality
  • Help develop our evening weekday offering to further enhance our offer to a broad customer base sometimes thinking out the box and having drive and enthusiasm for new initiatives.
  • Work closely with the business owner to ensure every attention to detail is met, set operating procedures are followed for all team members.
  • Coordinating social media, artist booking, rota's, stock ordering & control, promotions and special offers.

Experience

  • Proven supervising or team management experience in a bar, restaurant, or hospitality setting
  • Extensive bartending experience with strong knowledge of mixology techniques and beverage presentation with ability to be creative and train others.
  • Experience in serving guests in fast-paced environments such as city centre bars.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and food production processes within hospitality venues
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire a team and foster a positive work culture
  • Prior experience with barista skills or coffee service is advantageous but not required
  • Kitchen experience would also be useful but not essential.

Pay rate dependant on previous experience and subject to an initial 3 month probationary period.

Pay: £13.50-£14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 35.0 per week
