As Café Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day‑to‑day running of the Café. You’ll ensure consistently high standards of service, food quality, cleanliness, and customer care, while meeting commercial targets and maintaining full compliance with food safety and health & safety regulations.

You will be the driving force behind operational excellence, team performance, and a warm, welcoming environment for every guest.

Key responsibilities:

· Lead the daily operation of the Café, ensuring high standards of service, food quality, and cleanliness.

· Provide visible, hands‑on leadership and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

· Maintain full compliance with food safety, allergen procedures, and health & safety standards.

· Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members to perform at their best.

· Manage staffing levels, rotas, holidays, and absence to ensure smooth operations.

· Handle customer queries and complaints professionally and promptly.

· Drive sales, manage labour costs, and monitor stock, ordering, and waste.

· Ensure accurate signage, menus, promotions, and brand presentation.

· Analyse customer feedback and implement improvements to service and efficiency.

· Collaborate with other departments and support wider business initiatives.

· Contribute ideas to enhance guest experience, team performance, and operational results.

The successful candidate will have experience of:

· Level 2 and Level 3 Food Safety.

· At least 1 year’s experience as a Café Manager or similar role.

· Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate a team.

· Highly organised, effective leader with strong people management skills.

· Ability to develop policies, procedures, and write reports.

· Customer‑focused with strong complaint‑resolution skills.

· IT literate (Microsoft Office, MS Teams).

· Excellent communication and confident decision‑making.

· Strong upselling skills.

· Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.

· Able to manage conflicting priorities.

· Strong analytical and numerical skills (costings, stocktakes, rotas).

· Resilient, positive, and adaptable to change.

Desirable Experience:

· Experience with varied EPOS/till systems.

· Experience using the Opus platform.

· Ability to demonstrate Webbs’ values: Genuine, Caring, Experts.

This is permanent role, working 39.5 hours per week.

The role is based at our store in Wychbold, Worcestershire and so living within a reasonable commuting distance is a must.
