Full job description

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our business, on a part time basis.

We take pride and care in everything we do. As part of our small team, you would be at the very heart of things, helping us develop and maintain our reputation.

Working sociable hours, the successful candidate will be primarily focussed on pastry & cakes. We make everything here at the barn, so a background in a similar environment would be ideal, but we welcome applications from talented and keen home bakers.

We the love the cafe life and giving our visitors a great experience. We approach all of our food with the same high level of care and attention to detail, whether it is our lunch & brunch menu, or our cakes, scones and sausage rolls. We are looking for someone who shares these values.

The Role:

Working closely with the chef and the owners, you will share responsibility for producing both our sweets and range of servery cakes and to the highest standards.

Responsible for sweet section during lunch service and also assisting other team members as required.

Responsible for maintaining high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene in your own section, plus also assisting in all other areas including pot-washing and end of day clean down.

Comply with Health and Safety procedures and Food Hygiene procedures, helping to ensure that we keep our 5 Star Food Rating

Assist in the smooth running of the kitchen in a timely and efficient way

The person:

Experience of working in a similar role will most certainly be an advantage, but applications from talented home bakers are welcome.

A love of food and the whole cafe experience is important, along with a positive can-do attitude.

Attention to detail and able to work efficiently and neatly.
