Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Café Shift Leader to oversee evening and weekend operations within our vibrant café/restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a solid background customer facing roles. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead a dynamic team, ensure high standards of customer satisfaction, and contribute to the smooth running of our establishment. Previous experience in restaurant, culinary, or café settings is highly desirable, along with supervisory experience.

Duties

  • Lead and supervise café staff during shifts, ensuring efficient workflow and exceptional customer service
  • Manage daily operations including opening and closing procedures
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
  • Serving customers and preparing beverages such as coffee, alcohol or specialised drinks
  • Monitor stock levels
  • Handle customer queries and resolve any issues promptly to uphold excellent service standards
  • Maintain a clean, organised work environment in line with health and safety guidelines
  • Potential to run private evening events

Qualifications

  • Supervising experience with team management responsibilities
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced setting, including barista skills is advantageous
  • Good communication skills and a friendly demeanour
  • Ability to work flexible hours during shifts, including weekends ad evenings
