Barista

Please note- We are looking for candidates that would be available to start immediately and have good availability for August.

We are recruiting for a candidate with café or coffee shop experience, ideally also with some food preparation experience (eg chef/baker/cook as well as front of house/customer service) Barista experience is necessary, but additional coffee training will be given.

The right candidate will have a passion for food, great coffee and a big appreciation of banging brownies (obviously!!). Candidates must be confident in delivering excellent customer service, beautiful & consistent coffee's and be able to invent and present new drink items in a creative way.

This role will involve working closely alongside our Cafe Team Leader and helping with food prep during the lunchtime rush, to meet customer demand.

We are looking for someone reliable with an excellent work ethic, able to cope with a varied role and work independently.

Key Tasks/Responsibilities

  • Up Selling Coffee, Brownies, cakes & other menu items
  • Maintaining the coffee equipment
  • Assisting with the serving of the brunch & lunch menu made to order
  • Creating new drink items seasonally
  • Delivering great customer service and able to demonstrate brand knowledge & values
  • Making and serving coffees, teas hot drinks and cold drinks
  • Keeping café area clean & organised using stock rotation and BB labelling
  • Keeping brownie counter well stocked and beautifully displayed.
  • Maintaining stock levels and placing orders
  • Delivering excellent customer service and managing customer feedback
  • Keeping records such as fridge temp, cleaning & waste
  • Managing and mentoring other team members as the team grows in size

Desirable Skills/Abilities

  • 1-2 years experience as a barista
  • 1 year food handling experience (preferred but training can be given)
  • 2 years customer service experience
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate desirable
  • Supervisory experience desirable
  • Problem solving and showing initiative
  • Positive can-do attitude
  • A great team player! Someone who is reliable, on time, shows commitment, helps, respects, supports and gets along well with others.
  • Basic maths and English to GCSE grade C

Contracts are offered on a casual basis, allowing applicants to select shifts based on their availability. The role offers flexibility, including some weekend working. Discounted meals and uniform are provided, along with the opportunity to work in a fun and dynamic environment.
