An independent bakery and coffee shop set in the beautiful 413 acres of Trent Country Park, next to Cockfosters tube.

The Role

We are currently looking for a Head Chef to lead our kitchen operations and provide crucial cross-trained support to our on-site bakery. Experience gives you an advantage but what we truly value is curiosity, attention to detail and a passion for food, drink and service.

This is a role built around an 80/20 split, with 80% leading the kitchen and food service, and 20% stepping in to support the bakery schedule - you literally get to mix it up!!

Kitchen Service (80%):

  • Lead brunch service to order and oversee daily food prep (counter produce and preparations).

Bakery Support (20%):

  • Step in to support the baking schedule, confidently producing our core range of sweet and savoury bakes to a consistent standard when needed.
  • Ensure strict recipe standardisation and quality control.
  • Menu management and costing to maximise quality and minimise waste.

Hours:

35-45 hours per week.

Shifts are from 8am - 4/5pm, 5 days per week (including most but not all weekends).

What we are looking for from you:

  • Passion for food
  • Knowledge of various ingredients, and dish components
  • Ability to work alone and as a part of a team
  • Attention to detail
  • Desire to learn
  • Have a friendly attitude and excellent customer service
  • 1+ years experience of working with food in a commercial environment preferred
  • Food Safety & Hygiene Level 2.
  • Be fluent in English (both written and spoken)
  • Be eligible to live and work full time in the UK
