Hurtwood Events CIC operates the Hurtwood Hideout, a premier destination that combines hostel accommodation with a vibrant cafe, campsite and cycle centre. Our commitment to exceptional service and hospitality sets us apart in the industry.

Summary

We are seeking a dynamic manager to run and lead our team at the Hurtwood Cafe. Located in the heart of our community, this role is pivotal in ensuring outstanding guest experiences while managing daily operations effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the cafe, to ensure high standards of service.
  • Preparing and cooking breakfasts and lunches in the cafe, plus evening meals for our hostel guests.
  • Lead and motivate staff to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Monitor stock levels and place orders
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Provide exceptional service and resolve any guest issues or complaints.
  • Hire, train, schedule, and lead team members.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate operations and ensure the smooth functioning of the hostel.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and team members.
  • Step up and step in for any situation for our guests’ experience.
  • Advise and facilitate all the other offerings at the Hurtwood Hideout.

Requirements

  • Experience in a busy kitchen and cafe is essential.
  • Barista training would be preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a team.
  • Excellent guest service skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Hospitality experience
  • Leadership skills and creating an environment where your team can be their best selves.
  • Awareness and competence in all health and safety procedures and policies.
  • Tech-savvy, not shying away from tech-based resolutions and interaction.
  • A knowledge of food production and kitchen operations is required.
  • Creativity, enthusiasm, curiosity, and respect for nature and people.
