Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering high standards of food safety and customer satisfaction, with previous experience in a café or similar setting being advantageous. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

  • Serve customers promptly and courteously, taking orders accurately and efficiently
  • Prepare a variety of food and beverages, including hot drinks, sandwiches, and snacks
  • Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to at all times
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations, dining areas, and equipment to uphold hygiene standards
  • Manage stock levels and notify management of supplies needed
  • Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system
  • Assist with organising displays and ensuring the café is tidy and inviting
  • Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operations

Experience

  • Previous experience as a barista or in a customer-facing food service role is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations is beneficial
  • Experience in serving customers with professionalism and friendliness
  • Basic maths skills for handling cash and processing transactions effectively
  • Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks during busy periods
  • Ability to work efficiently within a team in a fast-paced environment
