Full job description

Low Briery Holiday Village is situated just outside Keswick in a beautiful, wooded valley in the English Lake District. Our holiday village has a variety of self-catering units from Pods, Caravans, to Luxury Lodges and has recently opened our new on-site café & games room. We’re looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable Barista/Café Assistant to join the team at our busy The Bobbin Mill café at Low Briery.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in providing excellent customer service and likes being part of a friendly, hands-on team.

The role

You’ll be involved in the day-to-day running of the café, helping to provide a great experience for our guests and customers.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and serving coffee, tea and alcoholic drinks
  • Preparing and serving food and cakes
  • Providing friendly and efficient customer service
  • Taking payments and operating the till
  • Keeping the café, kitchen and customer areas clean and tidy
  • Helping with deliveries, stock rotation and replenishment
  • Following food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures
  • Preparing food to the required standards
  • Working as part of the café team to keep service running smoothly
  • Helping to create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for our holiday guests and local customers

What we're looking for

You don't necessarily need previous barista experience — personality, reliability and a great attitude are just as important. Full training can be provided for the right person.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Friendly, approachable and confident with customers
  • Reliable and hardworking
  • Comfortable working in a busy environment
  • A good team player
  • Organised and able to use their initiative
  • Happy to get stuck in and help wherever needed
  • Passionate about providing great customer service
  • Ideally experienced in a café, hospitality or customer-facing role, although this isn't essential

Hours & pay

£13.00 per hour
25+ hours per week

Hours will include Saturdays and Sundays (3 weekends per month), with additional hours available during busy periods and holidays.
