Café / Restaurant Manager
Salary: £29,000 - £35,000 DOE
Hours: 5 over 7 days weekend availability required usual café operation hour 9am -4pm

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Café Restaurant Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day operation of our café and restaurant service.

This is a hands-on management role for someone who enjoys leading from the front, building a strong team and creating a consistently welcoming experience for every guest.

The successful candidate will be responsible for improving daily operations, strengthening service standards and ensuring the venue runs efficiently across both quieter trading periods and busy peak services, and developing our offering on site in uderutilised areas of the building.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operation of the café and restaurant.
  • Ensure service is organised, efficient and consistently delivered to a high standard.
  • Manage and support the front-of-house team during service.
  • Produce effective rotas that reflect business needs and agreed labour targets.
  • Recruit, induct, train and develop team members.
  • Set clear expectations and provide regular feedback and coaching.
  • Maintain excellent standards of presentation, cleanliness and customer service.
  • Respond professionally to guest feedback and resolve issues promptly.
  • Improve operational processes, service flow and communication between departments.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and timely service.
  • Ensure opening, closing and daily management procedures are followed.
  • Ensure food safety, health and safety and licensing procedures are followed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve overall revenue, guest experience and increase repeat visits.

About You

You will be an experienced hospitality manager with a strong background in café, restaurant or similar food-led operations.

You should be confident managing a busy service, organising a team and dealing with operational challenges calmly and professionally.

You will also have:

  • Previous management experience within a café, restaurant or hospitality venue.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Strong understanding of coffee culture and current food led trends.
  • Experience producing rotas and managing staffing levels.
  • A practical, hands-on approach to management.
  • Excellent customer-service standards.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability to identify problems and implement practical improvements.
  • Confidence managing performance and maintaining accountability.
  • A good understanding of food hygiene and health and safety requirements.
