Alongside our busy café, Tasty Catering provides fresh, high-quality food for businesses, meetings and events across Leeds. From breakfast and lunch platters to salads, wraps, hot food and larger corporate events, everything is prepared by our team with the same care and attention we give to the food served in the café.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Catering & Café Chef to join our kitchen team.

This is a varied role covering both our café kitchen and growing catering operation. One day you could be preparing fresh salads, wraps and platters for a corporate catering order, and the next working alongside the team producing our café menu during a busy lunch service.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their food, works well as part of a team and understands that consistency and attention to detail are just as important as creativity.

You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute ideas for new dishes, catering menus and seasonal specials as we continue to develop both sides of the business.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Preparing and cooking fresh food for both Tasty Kitchen & Coffee and Tasty Catering.
• Producing catering orders including sandwiches, wraps, salads, platters, breakfast items, hot food and event catering.
• Supporting café service and ensuring dishes leave the kitchen looking and tasting exactly as they should.
• Preparing catering orders accurately, consistently and on time.
• Working with the kitchen and management team to plan production around café trade and catering bookings.
• Helping develop new dishes, specials and catering menu ideas.
• Maintaining excellent standards of presentation, portion control and consistency.
• Following all food hygiene, food safety and allergen procedures.
• Ensuring food is correctly labelled, stored and rotated.
• Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and ready for service.
• Monitoring stock levels, reducing unnecessary waste and helping with ordering where required.
• Working efficiently during busy periods while maintaining quality.
• Supporting the wider Tasty team when needed – we’re a small independent business and believe everyone plays their part.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience working as a chef in a café, restaurant, catering or similar food environment.
• A genuine passion for producing fresh, tasty and well-presented food.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene, allergens and safe kitchen practices.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• The ability to manage several jobs at once and prioritise effectively.
• A good eye for presentation and consistency.
• Confidence working independently as well as part of a team.
• A calm and positive approach when things get busy.
• Good communication skills.
• An interest in developing new dishes and bringing ideas to the kitchen.

Experience in event or corporate catering would be particularly useful, although it isn’t essential for the right person.

Your shifts will be on a fixed rota from Friday to Tuesday each week with Wednesday and Thursday off
