Line Cook / Aspiring Chef — Kalimera Café Bistro

Kalimera is a Greek-rooted café bistro built around brunch, breakfast, and bold flavour — think Greek classics like spanakopita, feta saganaki, and portokalopita sitting alongside our signature stone-baked flatbreads, a from-the-sea rolls menu, and a British breakfast with a Greek twist. We're looking for an aspiring chef who wants to help us build something from the ground up and grow with the team.

What you'll be doing

  • Working the line across our breakfast, brunch and pastry menu — from poached eggs and Greek yogurt bowls to our signature build-your-own flatbreads
  • Helping develop and refine dishes as the menu grows, including our Greek classics (spanakopita, feta in filo, portokalopita) and more experimental plates (shokupan tiramisu bites, crêpe suzette)
  • Keeping consistency and quality high during busy breakfast and brunch service
  • Learning our techniques — filo work, baked flatbreads, seafood prep — and bringing your own ideas to the pass
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, food-safety-first kitchen

What we're looking for

  • Professional kitchen experience (formal training a plus, but passion, drive and reliability matter more)
  • A genuine interest in Greek and Mediterranean cooking, and curiosity to learn beyond it
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced breakfast/brunch service
  • A team player who wants to grow — this is a real opportunity to develop with a young, ambitious kitchen
  • Reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented, especially under pressure
