Temporary Cafe Chef - Holiday Cover - French Cafe - North London

We are looking for a passionate, creative and reliable Cafe Chef to join our team for a holiday cover role at our well-established French cafe in North London, with the potential to move into a part-time position in the future.

Established in 2006, our cafe has built a loyal local following and a reputation for quality food, warm service and a welcoming neighbourhood atmosphere.

This position is for holiday cover from 22/07 to 18/08, working 5 shifts per week, 6am-2pm. Training will be provided beforehand to help ensure a smooth handover and set you up for success in the role.

Our menu is centred around freshly prepared sandwiches, salads and soups, using quality ingredients, and we are looking for someone who can work independently to create seasonal salads, savoury tarts, innovative daily specials and exciting sandwiches. We also have a very busy hot breakfast trade, so confidence in delivering a strong morning service is essential. A passion for baking would be a real bonus.

This role would suit a chef who enjoys working with fresh produce, takes pride in quality and presentation, and can bring energy and ideas to a busy cafe kitchen.

We are looking for someone with

  • At least 1 year of experience in a good-quality establishment using fresh produce
  • Strong ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Experience with stock control, ordering, and kitchen organisation
  • Good knowledge of kitchen health and safety
  • A genuine passion for food, creativity, and attention to detail
  • A calm, positive approach in a busy service environment
