We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Barista and All Rounder to join our team at The Park Social Café located within Basingstoke Indoor Tennis Centre. Our café serves both the tennis and local community, offering a range of Costa Coffee drinks, hot toasted ciabattas, stone-baked pizzas, cakes, and ice cream. With 30 indoor seats and 30 outdoor seats overlooking the beautiful War Memorial Park, Park Social is a hub of activity, providing warmth, charm, and community spirit.

The Role
As a Barista / All-Rounder, you’ll be doing more than just serving expertly crafted coffee. You’ll help create a welcoming environment, delivering an experience full of warmth and charm that will make our customers smile and feel at home. This role is varied, from preparing coffees to serving delicious food, taking part in events and ensuring the cafe runs smoothly.

Shift Availability
We are looking for one Barista and all rounder to join our growing team to cover holidays and sickness as well as working weekends . The shifts will vary from working weekdays (9.30-2.30 or 1.30-6.30) or Saturday (9-3.30) or Sunday (9.30-3.30)

• Must have flexibility to work overtime including at weekends..

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering outstanding customer service and hospitality to all visitors of the café and tennis centre.
• Preparing a variety of Costa Coffee beverages, including specialty coffees and seasonal items.
• Serving hot food such as toasted ciabattas, pizzas, and handling cakes and ice cream.
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness in both the café and preparation areas.
• Ensuring food and drink are consistently served to a high standard and well-presented.
• Supporting the setup and closure of the café daily, following procedures for cleaning and organisation.
• Assisting with tennis centre-related tasks, such as advising customers on court access or coaching opportunities.

About You:

• You’re passionate about coffee and food, with experience (or willingness to learn) in making coffee and preparing food.
• You are friendly and outgoing, enjoying conversations with customers and contributing to a welcoming environment.
• You have excellent self-management skills, as this role involves some independent work.
• You have a positive attitude and enjoy being part of a community-focused café.

Qualifications

• Previous barista experience with a strong understanding of coffee preparation and serving techniques
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
• Excellent time management skills to handle busy shifts efficiently
• Experience in food preparation and maintaining a clean work environment

Pay: £12.71 per hour
