Full job description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Chef de Partie to join the kitchen team at the prestigious Manchester Art Gallery. This role offers excellent work–life balance, with the majority of hours worked during the day, and only occasional evenings for weddings, corporate dinners, and canapé receptions.

As Chef de Partie, you will work across our café service, daytime events, and support the preparation and delivery of high-quality menus for special functions. You’ll be part of a supportive and creative team, working in one of Manchester’s most iconic venues.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the daily running of the café kitchen

Prepare and deliver food for weddings, corporate dinners, and canapé functions

Ensure food quality and presentation standards are consistently met

Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef with prep and service

Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and health & safety

Ensure relevant paperwork is filled out daily

About You

Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Commis Chef ready to step up

Organised, reliable, and able to work well under pressure

Passionate about fresh, seasonal food and delivering quality at every service

Flexible to work occasional evenings for functions

A strong team player with good communication skills

Predominantly daytime shifts

Great work–life balance

Supportive and professional kitchen team

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £14.58 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 – 45 per week

Experience:
