Full job description

We are looking for a Roastery Assistant to join our incredible team in production . The role will involve fulfilling orders and getting them ready for delivery. It’s a fast-paced environment that requires accuracy, as coffee has to be weighed, ground and packed exactly to each customers needs and there are over 20 coffees to choose. You will need to be a team player with a can-do attitude. And of course, full training will be given on all of our packing equipment.

The role is exciting, constantly changing, fast paced and needs someone who loves being in a team and enjoys detail. In exchange you will have a great working environment, a great bunch of people to work with each day and as much coffee as you can drink!

A little about Wogan Coffee –

Passionate about coffee for over 50 years, we are a completely independent, third generation, family run company, roasting speciality coffees that are fully traceable, ethical and sustainable. Pledging to be Carbon Neutral by 2030, we run our roastery using solar power that also powers our fleet of electric vehicles. We support the Soil Association and Fairtade Alliance and our commitment to the community is helped by donating a portion of our sales to help the homeless in Bristol, The Great Western Air Ambulance and TalkClub 10 for men.

We have two sites - our Roastery Shop, Brew Bar and Training Campus where you can try all of our coffees using any method, buy beans in our shop or be trained to SCA level in our state of the art campus (this is also where we offer free barista training to our customers and groups) and our Roastery Production Headquarters where our roasters, packing machines and green beans are stored and the magic happens.

You will-

· Be working in fast paced environment and enjoy a busy environment with time pressure.

·Use your skills to carefully pick customers orders ensuring labelling is accurate and the correct coffee beans have been chosen from our range of 30.

· Work on the production team table, efficiently and accurately: measuring, weighing and organising whole coffee beans.

· Label and organise coffee bags with care ensuring each coffee is packed to perfection.

· Assemble, pack and label boxes for shipping

· Always leave your station and the warehouse in impeccable shape: sweeping, organising, and cleaning the floor after each production run.

· Support your team members as needed, to keep production running smoothly.

· Be obsessed with the details.

· Be reliable and consistent: your manager and teammates can always depend on you to be punctual, dedicated and bring your A-game.

· Be delightful to work with, you have a sense of humour and infectious ‘can-do’ attitude.

Physical Requirements:

. You will be doing a lot of walking around the warehouse and between our two warehouses, so a love of exercise is good.

· The ability to lift up to 15 kilos of weight comfortably.

· The ability to stand and walk for long periods of time (8 hours per day and 5 days per week).

· The ability to climb ladders, stairs, ramps and uneven floor and/or surfaces as needed.

This is a full time, permanent role and will not involve coffee roasting.

It is a physical role, so a level of fitness is essential.

Hours of work are 8am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday

20 days holiday plus bank holidays increasing every 5 years.
