We’re looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and motivated Café Manager to take the lead at our brand-new Poolside Café opening at Trowbridge Sports Complex.

Building on the success of our established Poolside Café in Melksham, this exciting new location will become part of the growing FW Catering Ltd group, a local company providing catering services across a number of sites in the surrounding area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants more than just a management job. We're looking for someone who can take ownership of a new venture, bring fresh ideas to the table and help build a successful café from the ground up.

You'll have the freedom to make a real difference, while benefiting from the support, experience and guidance of our existing management team.

What You'll Be Doing

As Café Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the café, ensuring high standards of food, service and presentation.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking ownership of the daily running and overall performance of the café.
• Leading, motivating and supporting your team, including working closely with an Assistant Manager and Area Manager.
• Delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming environment.
• Preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold food and beverages.
• Managing staff rotas, working hours and ensuring appropriate staffing levels.
• Ordering stock, managing inventory, reducing waste and controlling costs.
• Developing menu specials, introducing new products and bringing creative ideas to the business.
• Maintaining excellent food hygiene, allergen management, cleanliness and health and safety standards.
• Ensuring the café operates efficiently during busy periods, including weekends and events.
• Working closely with FW Catering's management team to develop and grow the business.

This is a hands-on management position, and we're looking for someone who is just as comfortable working alongside their team as they are managing the operation.

What We're Looking For

Essential requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years' relevant experience within hospitality, cafés, restaurants or food service, including supervisory or management responsibilities.
• Proven experience leading, motivating and managing a team.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, allergen awareness and health and safety procedures.
• A professional, clean and presentable appearance.
• Experience managing stock, ordering supplies, controlling waste and monitoring costs.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience preparing staff rotas and managing daily operations.
• A proactive, reliable and hands-on approach.
• Flexibility to work weekends when required.

Desirable, but not essential:

• A passion for food and drink, with creative ideas and a willingness to think outside the box.
• A full UK driving licence.

This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, with flexibility required to meet the needs of the business, including occasional weekend working.
