We’re looking for an experienced barista to join the team at SERV, our café at PADEL8.

Coffee is a big part of what we want SERV to be. We’re looking for someone who knows their craft, enjoys working with people and takes pride in serving a great drink every time.

As well as the day-to-day running of the coffee bar, you’ll have the chance to take the lead on developing our drinks menu. We want someone who can bring ideas, help us try new things and play a real part in shaping the SERV offering as we grow.

That could mean seasonal specials, iced drinks, matcha, new coffee serves or something we haven’t thought of yet.

What you’ll be doing

• Making consistently great coffee and other drinks
• Operate POS system to process orders efficiently and accurately
• Providing friendly and welcoming service
• Helping develop our drinks menu and seasonal specials
• Keeping standards high across the coffee bar
• Making sure the café is clean, organised and well presented
• Getting to know our regulars and helping create a great atmosphere
• Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling snacks or light meals in accordance with health regulations when needed
• Keeping on top of stock and day-to-day bar needs
• Helping the team where need and working closely with the wider SERV and PADEL8 team and duties.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with solid barista experience who is confident working with a commercial espresso machine and comfortable in a busy café environment.

You’ll care about the details from dialing in the coffee and getting the milk right to how the finished drink is served.

Just as importantly, you’ll be friendly, reliable and comfortable taking ownership of your area.

We’d love someone who:

• Proven experience as a Barista with a strong background in coffee preparation and food service
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple orders during peak hours without compromising quality
• Knowledge of food safety practices, food handling procedures, and basic math for cash handling and retail math calculations
• Previous experience working in a café or retail environment within the food industry is highly desirable
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work in a fast-paced setting

Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 – 40.0 per week
