Full job description

The busy Garden Café at Glendoick Garden Centre is looking to recruit a part time Cafe Assistant/Cleaner to join our friendly front of house team. The position is 20 hours a week worked over 5 days out of 7 and finishing no later than 6pm.

Main Duties

  • Greeting customers and seating them at their table
  • Taking customer orders and receiving payment
  • Clearing tables and ensuring cleanliness standards are maintained
  • Following health and safety guidelines
  • Being aware of and following operational policies and procedures
  • Contributing to a positive work environment
  • Cleaning café, soft play area and café toilets to a high standard daily
  • Carry out deep cleans of all café areas, soft play and café toilets on a rotational basis
  • Carry out daily checks of children’s soft play equipment, clean as required
  • Wash and dry any café & kitchen laundry
  • Vacuum/mop office, staff room and corridors
  • Ensure outdoor seating area is kept clean and tidy and bins emptied as required
  • Mop up any spillages as notified / that you see during the café opening hours

Pay rates are in accordance with national living wage for under 21s and £12.75 per hour for those aged 21 and over.

Other benefits are free parking, no evening shifts, flexible days and share of monthly tips

Due to our location and lack of public transport, applicants must have a driver’s licence and have access to their own vehicle.
