Chef

Cranstons are looking for an enthusiastic, food loving and creative Chef to join our small kitchen team at Café Oswalds above our Penrith Foodhall.

This is a rare opportunity for a Chefs Position where you can show your love for food and creative flare using quality local products with; sociable, daytime, straight shifts that doesn’t impact your evenings.

Our team will quickly train you up and show you the ropes, we just need you to bring a willingness to learn.

About the Role

  • Full and Part Time Hours Available (Full time is 5 days a week, 40 hours/ we can be flexible with part time hours)
  • £14.09/ hour
  • Weekly paid
  • Weekend working on a rota basis
  • Daytime straight shifts that don't impact your evenings
  • Working within our wider Oswalds Team to deliver great service and quality food in a fast paced working environment

What You'll Do

  • Prepare, cook and present food to a high standard in a busy environment
  • Work with wider team, including our Head Chef to make sure we always have a consistent level of stock
  • Serving food in a timely and consistent manner
  • Following all relevant hyigene, health and safety guidelines to a high standard
  • Working with your team to create an excellent customer experience
  • Getting stuck in with shared tasks including cleaning and tidying
  • Using local ingredients to make high quality products

What You'll Need

  • Able to work in a fast paced Kitchen environment
  • Willingness to learn our menu and processes
  • Happy to be a team player and work alongside our 20 strong team
  • Organisational with ability to multitask well
