Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chef to manage The Cart Shed Tearoom and The Pickled Peacock kitchen over 5 consecutive days. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food safety and culinary practices, along with experience in working solo in kitchens and working within a team.

This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient operation of our food preparation processes while maintaining high standards of hospitality and service.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Supervise and manage kitchen operations, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance.
  • Assist in food preparation, ensuring quality and presentation meet our standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to create a positive working environment that fosters teamwork and leadership.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed to maintain efficient operations.
  • Implement training programmes for new staff on food safety practices and culinary techniques.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a culinary or hospitality role, preferably within a restaurant, cafe or tearoom setting.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Proficient in food preparation techniques with a passion for culinary excellence.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
