Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering a positive experience to our customers and possess a keen eye for detail. Previous experience in a café or food service environment is essential.

Must have at least 3 years experience in a similar cafe/pub role cooking and serving

Hours are 24 per week. Will include Friday & Saturday between the hours of 9am-3:30 pm

Duties

  • Prepare a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee and tea, adhering to quality standards
  • Serve food items efficiently while maintaining high hygiene standards
  • Handle cash transactions and operate the POS system with basic maths skills
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations, dining areas, and equipment in accordance with food safety regulations
  • Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts
  • Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or salads when required
  • Manage time effectively to serve customers promptly during busy periods
  • Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers

Requirements

  • Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is desirable
  • Food hygiene certification
  • Ability to perform basic maths accurately for cash handling and transactions
  • Friendly demeanour with good communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if necessary
  • A proactive attitude towards learning new skills related to food preparation and customer service

Pay: £12.71-£13.71 per hour
