Shift Supervisor

Café Fortune - Starbucks Licensee | Store Based

Reports To: Store Manager / Assistant Store Manager

Direct Reports: Baristas and store partners during assigned shifts

Location: Store Based

Contract: Full time and part time available

Salary: £13.71 per hour

The Role

As a Shift Supervisor at Cafe Fortune, you're the leader on shift. You'll run the floor, support your team, hold standards and make sure every customer leaves with a brilliant experience, even when it's busy, short-staffed or challenging.

This is a step up from Barista and the start of a real leadership journey. Most of our Assistant Managers and Store Managers have come through this role. If you want to grow with us, this is where it starts.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading the store during your shift, deploying the team, maintaining pace and making sure standards are met from open to close
  • Coaching and supporting Baristas in the moment, not just when there's a problem
  • Delivering an exceptional customer experience and dealing with complaints confidently and professionally
  • Holding health and safety, food safety and operational standards every shift, without exception
  • Making confident decisions when things don't go to plan, without always needing to escalate
  • Recognising good work and creating a positive, focused environment on shift
  • Communicating clearly with the rest of the management team about what's happening in store
  • Supporting new team members through their training and onboarding

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role, ideally in hospitality or food service
  • A natural leader, someone people look to, even without the title
  • Calm under pressure with the ability to prioritise and make decisions quickly
  • High standards and the consistency to hold them even when it's hard
  • A genuine interest in developing others
  • Clear, confident communication with both customers and colleagues
